Scheme of Examination under EPFO SSA Syllabus 2023
The Phase 1 Examination of Social Security Assistant will be of 600 marks covering objective based 150 questions. The duration of the test is 2 hours and 30 minutes i.e. a total of 150 minutes. The whole Phase 1 Examination is divided into 5 sections – General Aptitude, General Knowledge, Quantitative Ability, General English and Computer Literacy. The distribution of questions and marks per section is given in the below table:

Must-know points for EPFO SSA Syllabus of Phase 1 Exam
- Each question shall have 4 marks each.
- The marks obtained in Phase 1 will be considered for final selection on merit.
- For each wrong answer, There will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
- English comprehension shall be objective.
- Total marks will be 600.
- The candidates will be shortlisted for Phase 2 in the ratio of 1:10 i.e. about 10 times the number of vacancies in each category on the basis of their performance in Phase 1.
- If the examination is held in more than one session, the scores across various sessions will be equated following standard practice to adjust for slight differences in difficulty level of different test batteries used across sessions.
