Indian Coast Guard Exam has issued an official notice to recruit Navik (General Duty) and Narvik (Domestic Branch) within the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union. Online applications are being accepted by interested candidates between the 6th of February through 16th February 2023.

Job Profile of ICG Navik

Navik (General Duty) works onboard ships as well as on land for various tasks as an Enrolled Personal. Navik (GD) applicants are assigned a specialization after completing the basic course at INS Chilka. The trades/specialization is allotted on the performance of the candidate in the training and the requirement of the service.

Navik (Domestic Branch) offer logistic assistance for the Ships Company onboard ship and on land such as Cook & Steward as mentioned below:

Cook: They would be required to prepare food as per the menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and account for ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for the efficient running of the organization.

Stewards: They would be required to serve food in the Officer’s mess as waiters, housekeeping, maintenance and accounting of funds, wine and stores handling, preparation of the menu, etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for the efficient running of the organisation.

Eligibility Criteria of ICG Navik 2023

Nationality

Candidates must be Indian citizens to apply for this post. (Only male candidates can apply for this post).

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 Years to 22 years to apply for this post i.e. candidates must be born between 01 Sep 2001 to 31 Aug 2005 (both dates inclusive).

Relaxation in upper age is also permissible for some special categories which are as follows:-

  2. On the homepage, you will get a link to register yourself by entering your credentials.
  3. After the successful completion of registration, your login credentials will be sent to your email id.
  4. Now click on the “apply online” tab and enter your details carefully. Afterward, fill out the application form and upload the documents in the needed format.
  5. Pay the application fee to complete the application process. Take a printout of the final submission for your records

Selection Process of ICG Navik 2023

If they meet all the conditions of the selection procedure Candidates will be evaluated to be selected for the final selection for the Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) and Navik (Domestic Branch) in 2023 based on the four phases as outlined in the following Stage:

Stage 1:- Written Test

The test is taken for Navik (GD) with two sections and for Navik (DB) with one section. The candidate who scores higher points in Section-I {applicable only for Navik (GD) and not for Navik (DB)}.

Stage 2:- Physical Fitness Test

Participants will take part in PFT entirely at risk. Every candidate is required to wear sports attire that includes footwear, a t-shirt, and pants. The PFT comprises:

Stage 3:- Final Medicals at INS Chilka

The selected candidates will undergo their final medical tests taken by INS Chilka, which will consist of reviewing OF medicals and determining whether the candidates “Provisionally Pass” or “Fail.” Candidates who fail the final medical examination at INS Chilka will not be registered for the course of instruction.

Stage 4

Candidates who are successful in completing Stage III and who are as the top candidates for open positions will be shortlisted provisory for further training in INS Chilka. Candidates are required to submit all original documents as well as their Indian Coast Guard will verify all original documents with universities, boards and state governments. Should the appropriate Boards, Universities, or State Government report the documents as not original the candidate could be removed from their post.
