Role of women in society

“God resides there where women are worshipped”- these lines of Manu Smriti explained the importance of women in society. A progressive society can only be established by providing equal importance to both genders.

God could not be everywhere so he made mothers in our lives is immense. Mothers bear the pain and provide us with the opportunity to see the light of this beautiful world.

Besides managing family, the perimeter of responsibilities for a woman has enlarged today. They are taking the lead role in the nation’s decisions, industrial field, sports, economy astronomy and whatnot. Nirmala Sitharaman is our current Finance minister. Arundhati Bhattacharya in the economy, Mithali Raj, P.V. Sindhu in sports, and Kalpana Chawla in astronomy are some glorious examples of golden daughters of the recent era.

Unfortunately, still, the menace of patriarchal society is a taboo for complete freedom for women. More than 46000 rape cases have been reported in India. Countries like Iran, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia are still enjoying the social bondage of women. Malala Yousafzai and the UN are still fighting to get the social right back.

We cannot forget the role of Laxmi Bai, Sarojini Naidu and many more women in freedom movements. The indomitable spirit of Mother Teresa for the upliftment of society brought her the Nobel prize.

Despite knowing the irrefutable significance of women in our society, a group of psychologically retarded men is continuously trying to harm the self-esteem of women. Government should punish them severely and ensure women’s safety. The literacy programmes should also be accelerated to increase the literacy rate from 67% to 100%.
