Best Scholarship Scheme for Minority Students 2024-2025

On National Scholarship Portal, there are two major categories of Scholarship Schemes:
1. Pre-Matric
2. Post Matric/Merit-cum-Means (MCM)/ Top-class.

All these are online Schemes and any eligible student may apply for a Scholarship under any of these schemes on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The URL of the portal is: https://scholarships.gov.in/

Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students

Pre-Matric Scholarship will be awarded for studies in India in a government or private school from class I to class X, including such residential Government institutes and eligible private institutes selected and notified in a transparent manner by the State Government and Union Territory Administration concerned. Eligibility : Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students

Pre-Matric Scholarship will be granted to students who have attained a minimum of 50% marks in their most recent final examination, and the combined annual income of their parents/guardians from all sources does not surpass Rs. 1.00 lakh. (application process online form eligibility)

Renewal of Scholarships : Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students

Pre-Matric Scholarship will grand once in a year. In next year, renewal of the scholarship is contingent upon the student achieving a minimum of 50% marks in the preceding year’s examination. This renewal is applicable if the student continues the same course at the same Institute/School for the next academic year. The renewal process requires the submission of a certificate verifying the academic performance.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students

Post-Matric Scholarship is awarded for students studying in India, whether in government or private schools or colleges. It includes residential institutes chosen by the government. The scholarship also covers technical and vocational courses at the XI and XII levels, including Polytechnics, affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). However, courses lasting less than one year and certificate courses are not eligible for this scholarship.

Eligibility : Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students

Post-Matric Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardians from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.00 lakh. (application process online form eligibility)

Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses CS is to be awarded for studies in India in a Government or private institution, selected and notified in a transparent manner by the State Government/Union Territory Administration concerned. It will cover technical and professional courses at undergraduate and post graduate level.

Eligibility : Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses CS

Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses CS will be given to students who have achieved at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in their most recent final examination. Additionally, the annual income of their parents/guardians from all sources should not surpass Rs.2.50 lakh. (application process online form eligibility)

General Instructions/Guidelines for Applying Scholarship Scheme

  1. Candidates should carefully read the instructions before registration.
  2. It is advisable for candidates to fill in all required details meticulously and verify them before submission, as no corrections or edits are allowed after submission.
  3. Providing incorrect or false information may result in rejection of the application.
  4. Candidates are urged to provide accurate and active mobile numbers and email addresses during online application, as all communication will be conducted through mobile/email.
  5. Regular updates should be checked on the National Scholarship Portal.
  6. Aadhaar is mandatory for NSP registration.
  7. Candidates should ensure that demographic details in Aadhaar match those in school/institute records. Discrepancies should be corrected in Aadhaar.
  8. Registration through parents’ Aadhaar is valid only while the student is a minor. Once the candidate reaches adulthood, it becomes their responsibility to update Aadhaar on NSP.
  9. Candidates must link their mobile number to Aadhaar to receive OTP from UIDAI. Mobile linking status can be checked at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/verify-email-mobile.
  10. Candidates should ensure that their bank account is linked with Aadhaar. The seeding status can be checked at https://resident.uidai.gov.in/bank-mapper.
  11. Candidates are advised to activate and update their DigiLocker account for automated verification.

Other Instructions/Guidelines for Applying Scholarship Scheme

  1. State of Domicile: Domicile state means the state in which students have their permanent address. Students are required to provide their domicile state correctly as their applications may be sent for verification to the Authorities belonging to their State of Domicile.
  2. Scholarship Category: A Scholarship scheme may either be a Pre-matric scheme for Post-matric scheme. Any scholarship scheme available to student upto class X is called Pre-matric scheme whereas remaining schemes fall under the category of Post-matric schemes.

How to Apply Scholarship Scheme?

Students applying for scholarship for the first time (Fresh Students) need to “Register” on the portal as fresh applicant by providing accurate and authenticated information as printed on their documents in the “Student Registration Form”. The registration form is required to be filled by parents / guardian of students who are below the age of 18 years on the date of registration. Before initiating registration process, students are advised to keep the following documents handy:

  • 3. In case of EID, no disbursal of scholarship would happen till Aadhaar is submitted in a given timeframe.
  • 4. Payment will be made in Aadhaar Seeded account.
  • 5. If Institute/School is different from domicile state of the applicant, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School.
  • 6. Name, gender, DoB must be same as in student’s Aadhaar.
  • 7. Name, gender must be same as in parent’s Aadhaar.
  • 8. After filling the application form Student must do their eKYC.

Application Process of Applying Scholarship Scheme

To apply for the scholarship, follow these steps:

The scheme is implemented through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is mandatory for all students to apply online on the website www.scholarships.gov.in

  • Step-1 : Go to website www.scholarships.gov.in
  • Step-2: Click on New Registration, and read the instruction carefully.
  • Step-3: Do the Check Mark which is mentioned in the bottom.
  • Step-4: Then Click on Continue button.
  • Step-5: A Phone and Aadhar Verification Form will Appear.
  • Step-6: Filled all the *Marked details.
  • Step-7: Then Click on Verify.
  • Step-8: A General Registration form will appear , then fill all the *mandatory details.
  • Step-9: Choose Scholarship Catagory.
  • Step-10: Then Finally Click on Submit Button, After the Submit button, Applicant will recived a Application No. with password through SMS on registered Mobile Number.

After submitting the scholarship application, the default login ID and password for accessing the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) will be sent to the mobile number provided during the application process. If, for any reason, the password is not received, applicants can use the “Forgot Password” option available on the login page to reset and regain access to their account.
