SSC CGL Recruitment 2025 Application Notification details

The recruitment notification for the examination will be provided later by the official (SSC). The conducting body for taking the exam is the SSC (Staff Selection Commission). When notification is out by the officials you will get the information about the number of vacancies.

For taking the exam there is an age criteria for different posts but generally, it is between 18-32 years and there is age relaxation for the reserve category (ST, SC, OBC, EWS) up to 5 years. SSC CGL Eligibility

SSC CGL exam eligibility is one of the important points, one must have to understand before applying for SSC CGL application. Here, we are providing all eligibility criteria to read carefully:

SSC CGL Nationality

Candidates should obey this that they should be a citizen/subject of India, Nepal, Bhutan or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC CGL Age Limit

Candidates must have aged between 18- 32 years but it also depends on the post of recruitment and there is an age relaxation of reserve category (ST, SC, OBC, EWS) for up to 5 years. PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability) has also an age relaxation of 10 years.

SSC CGL Education Qualification

A bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University in any stream is an essential qualification to competing in this exam and Desirable qualifications vary as per the posts.


SSC CGL Selection Process

To be selected for a reputable government sector as an officer, aspirants have to go through various steps of the selection process and so, there is too. Here, the selection process of SSC CGL has 2 number of stages:

  1. Tier 1 exam – this is the first stage of the exam and in this candidates have to qualify themself to appear in the next stage, basically it’s a qualify nature exam. here you have to answer the objective-based multiple-choice question of 4 sections General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
  2. Tier 2 exam – this is the second stage of the examination this will consist also of an objective-based multiple-choice question of 4 sections General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension followed by a computer typing test which is qualifying in nature.
  3. Document Verification – After clearing all the stages verification of the documents is done by officials and afterward, candidates get their jobs according to their job preference as they opt.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern

The first step of the SSC CGL exam is the Tier I exam, In this stage candidates must have to qualify this for appearing in Tier 2. At this stage, candidates have to clear a 1-hour duration exam/test which is divided into 4 sections each section contains 25 questions with positive marks of 2 and negative marks of 0.50 for wrong answers.

Tier-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions & the questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Comprehension. Candidates who qualify for this stage will appear in Tier 2. Check the detailed information in the table below:

The second step – Tier II will include conducting Paper-I & Paper-II in separate shift(s)/ day(s). In this paper-I is compulsory for all the candidates and Paper – I section III module II is only for required posts, Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General of India (M/o Home Affairs) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts. Paper-I will be conducted in two sessions – Session –I & Session II, on the same day. Paper-I & Paper-II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module II of Section III of Paper I.

The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for the English Language and Comprehension module in Section II of Paper I. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II. Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature. Module II of Section-III of Paper-I will include conducting of a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) for a duration of 15 minutes in Session II on the same day. For reference read the table given below:
